Rocket Science Faces Recruitment Crisis January 2006 CAPE CANAVERAL - Space agencies are facing a critical shortage of young rocket scientists, and are blaming a lack of focus and discipline in the school system. NASA spokesperson Ted Rilstone said the agency's requirements were straightforward. "We simply need some capable, motivated young people to solve the fiendishly complex equations involved in calculating the delta-v budget necessary to combat gravity drag and achieve specific orbital energy", he said. "I mean, it's not rocket science. Oh. Right"
